Day of Action

June 22, 2008

LIVE UNITED began as a simple T-shirt—something individuals could wear to show they are part of a collective of people working to advance the common good. Since then, it has become the beginnings of a much larger movement, a mentality that we are all people, connected, interdependent, united. and that when we reach out a hand to one, we have the power to influence the condition of all.

To celebrate this set of ideals, United Way of Massachusetts Bay & Merrimack Valley is hosting a Day of Action on June 22, 2008. The Day of Action will bring together individuals and families to raise their voices for the community and see how others are living united every day. Whether it be through volunteerism, philanthropy or advocacy, Living United is all about getting engaged and taking a stake in the future of our region.

The Day of Action will be replicated across the country with hundreds of other local United Ways from Arizona to California to Massachusetts. Our region’s Day of Action will be an outdoor rally for community engagement featuring:

  • Music and performances
  • Speeches from local community leaders and celebrities
  • A volunteer fair

Open and free to the public.
